Job summary

JetBlue is seeking a Senior Analyst, Crew Pairing Optimization in New York. You will be the subject matter expert for Jeppesen Crew Pairing and will support cross‑department collaboration to improve calibration tool reliability and KPI achievement.

You will perform data analysis, quality assurance and ad hoc projects to ensure system robustness and effective performance metrics. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four years of relevant work experience.
  • Three years of analytical or related work experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Strong communication and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and focusing on quality improvement; and ensuring data is reliable and valid.
  • Collaborate with business partners and internal stakeholders to help achieve business strategies via the crew pairing optimization process
  • Develop and manage metrics and reporting that drives crew pairing optimization efficiency
  • Meet with stakeholders regularly to review deliverables and deadlines
  • Support system upgrades and lead recommendation for enhancements
  • Analyze data for trends and patterns, and interpret data with clear objectives in mind
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, Crew Pairing Optimization is the subject matter expert for the Jeppesen Crew Pairing. The Senior Analyst will assist Airline Optimization, Crew Planning and Crew Staffing analysts in cross-departmental collaboration in obtaining the efficiency and efficacy of the Calibration Tool to create crew pairings that are robust and resilient to operational disruption. The Senior Analyst will perform data analysis, data quality assurance and ad hoc projects that enables system robustness and achievable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Three (3) years of analytical or related work experience
  • Strong capabilities with a programming language such as Python
  • Strong capabilities with database querying such as SQL
  • Strong capabilities with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of crew planning /airline operations experience
  • Familiarity with crew production tools and processes, airline scheduling, or route planning
  • Knowledge and/or experience with best practices throughout the airline industry
  • Knowledge and/or experience in traditional machine learning and modeling
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation
  • The base pay range for this position is between $88,000.00 and $132,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
