Job summary

Maersk in the United States is seeking an accounting professional to manage day-to-day activities and ensure timely financial closes. You will connect with country teams, maintain controls, and deliver tax and audit requirements on deadlines.

You will drive process improvements and act as a backup when needed, while supporting balance sheet reviews and internal control attestations. The role requires experience with JD Edwards, Blackline, OneStream, and Oracle reporting, plus strong Excel

Qualifications

• Experience with JD Edwards accounting system.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong English written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to work night shifts.
• Familiarity with Blackline, OneStream and Oracle reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities.

• Propose and implement process improvements.
• Serve as backup when team members are absent.
• Handle additional tasks and ad hoc activities as needed.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews for in-scope entities; verify accounts and take action where needed.
• Coordinate financial statement analysis and consolidate tax information; provide reports.
• Coordinate internal control attestation with control performers.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities
• Connect with the country and other teams for relevant information and action as necessary
• Deliver financial book close requirements in a timely manner, based on set deadlines
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial controls, as determined globally and locally
• Complete deliverables and other assigned tasks within the targeted timeline and SLA, including timely response to inquiries
• Proactively highlight any performance/process gaps and room for improvement, and follow up with the relevant stakeholders
• Utilize accounting knowledge of processes and understanding of impact on other work groups to assist others on more complex issues
• Deliver tax and audit requirements on established deadlines
• Continuously seek, propose, and establish improvements in the processes handled
• Serve as a backup resource in the absence of other team members
• Perform other tasks and ad hoc activities that are deemed necessary, as assigned
• Perform monthly balance sheet review for in-scope entities region, including verifying accuracy and substantiation of all relevant accounts, and implementing appropriate action points in case of deviation from acceptable accounting principles
• Conduct financial statement analysis, coordinate with various process owners to consolidate specific accounting and tax information (as necessary), and provide reports on operational result
• Coordinate internal control attestation with relevant control performers

Who are we looking for

• With considerable years of relevant experience
• Good English Communications Skills for both written and verbal
• Must have experience on JD EDWARD system
• MS Office Proficient - Excel
• Amenable to work in Nigh shift schedule
• Knowledgeable with Blackline and One Stream – Reporting and Consolidation, Oracle based
