Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking an Escalations Governance and Controls Analyst to strengthen risk governance and automate manual tasks. You will validate data, document controls, and coordinate remediation with risk, compliance, legal, technology, and operations teams.

You will build and maintain Alteryx workflows, apply basic SQL for checks, and support audits while driving clear accountability and timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in financial services within AML/KYC, risk or controls.
• Strong organization, ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent analytical and detail-oriented problem solving.
• Experience documenting processes and requirements.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with access controls and collaboration sites.
• Experience building or maintaining Alteryx workflows.
• Basic SQL knowledge for data checks and troubleshooting.
• Strong written and verbal communication; independent yet collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence for reviews.
• Draft and update control write-ups and guides to standards.
• Review controls, identify gaps, and drive improvements with stakeholders.
• Track exceptions and defects; document findings; drive remediation.
• Build and maintain Alteryx workflows to automate checks.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation for metric accuracy.
• Use basic SQL to support data checks and troubleshooting.
• Define data elements and metrics to reduce rework and ambiguity.
• Support UAT for changes affecting controls, data, or reporting.
• Maintain project plans, trackers, and status reporting for visibility.
• Facilitate working sessions, document decisions, and coordinate stakeholders.
