Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Compliance Senior Data Scientist to advance AML model development and governance across banking, brokerage and lending products. You will lead model design, validation, and data infrastructure while ensuring regulatory alignment and risk management across the enterprise.

Role requires experience in the finance sector with BSA/AML, OFAC or fraud modeling, and strong SQL/Python skills for large data sets. Collaboration with AML Governance and cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience in finance focusing on AML, BSA/AML, OFAC or fraud modeling.
• Strong statistical/data analysis, data quality validation and predictive modeling in SQL and Python.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate AML model development, implementation, and validation across multiple product lines.
• Maintain, test and configure AML vendor solutions for sound design and performance.
• Architect and lead advanced AML models using ML and statistical methods.
• Ensure AML compliance and regulatory requirements are embedded in design.
• Document modeling methodology, data sources, and validation results.
• Lead governance and quality control across the full AML model lifecycle.
