Job summary

PNC is seeking a Data Scientist within its Anti-Money Laundering Analytics & Modeling team, based in Pittsburgh or other major cities across the U.S. You will build models using logistic regression, clustering, gradient boosting, neural networks, and other ML methods to detect and mitigate suspicious activity.

You will collaborate with stakeholders bank-wide to identify risk indicators, create data-driven strategies, and advance innovative AML projects that are potentially patentable.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field.
• Experience with data mining and data preparation for ML models.
• Proficiency in statistical methods and tools, including experimental design, probability theory, and sampling.
• Expertise in building, scaling, and optimizing machine learning systems with industry recognized ML frameworks and algorithms.
• Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, R, and/or SQL.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of analytical techniques to extract usable information from data sources.
• Participate in data set creation, analysis, reporting, model building, monitoring, and documentation.
• Effectively communicate analytical results to senior executives and partners.
• Collaborate with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line of defense and other stakeholders.
• Perform analytical tasks on large structured and unstructured data to extract actionable insights.
• Participate in data gathering, processing, and mining of large datasets.
• Develop algorithms using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques like ML to predict business outcomes.
• Run analytical experiments methodically to find optimization opportunities and present insights using visualization.
• Partner with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Visualization Experts to develop data-driven solutions.
