Job summary

The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking an Associate Director for the Wharton Fund to lead donor engagement and fundraising efforts among graduate alumni. The role involves traveling to visit prospects, managing volunteers, and driving leadership annual giving pipelines to secure $25,000+ commitments.

The ideal candidate has a science baccalaureate and 3–5 years of fundraising or sales experience, with strong relationship-building and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships with alumni, volunteers, and high-capacity donors.
• Experience in frontline fundraising or sales with ability to meet performance goals.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities with data-driven approach.
• Experience with CRM or fundraising databases and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Solicit Wharton Fund prospects at leadership levels and manage a donor portfolio.
• Recruit and train fundraising volunteers; oversee class progress toward goals.
• Achieve cash and participation targets for Wharton Fund each fiscal year.
• Analyze reports to identify giving patterns and inform strategies.
• Qualify and cultivate leadership prospects for gifts of $25,000+; collaborate with leadership gift officer.
