Job summary

Apptronik, a human-centered robotics company, seeks a Senior ECAD Designer to own PCB schematic capture and layout in Altium Designer, focusing on power electronics and high-speed digital design. You will drive design-for-manufacturability and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready boards.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of PCB layout experience, expertise in power delivery networks, and strong SI/PI knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years PCB schematic capture and layout experience.
• Expert-level Altium Designer proficiency.
• Experience with DC/DC converters, power planes, and high-current traces.
• Familiarity with IPC standards; CID/CID+ preferred.
• HDI/flex design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• PCB Design & Layout: schematic capture and PCB layout for mixed-signal, power, and high-speed boards.
• Power Design: route power delivery networks for optimal power integrity.
• High-Speed Design: impedance-controlled routing and differential pairs for GHz interfaces.
• DFM / DFA: collaborate with fabrication houses and CM on DRC, panelization, tolerances.
• EMC / EMI: apply grounding and shielding techniques; support pre-compliance testing.
• Standards & Compliance: adhere to IPC standards and internal rules; maintain templates.
• Documentation: generate Gerbers, drill files, BOMs, drawings; support design releases.
• Library Management: maintain Altium symbols, footprints, and library data.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: align with electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams.
• Mentorship: guide junior designers on layout best practices.
