Job summary

Oliver James is seeking a senior-level Investment Accountant to lead accounting and reporting for alternative investments such as private equity and tax credit investments. You will review complex transactions, approve journal entries and reconciliations, and ensure accurate GAAP and statutory disclosures.

You will mentor two direct reports, collaborate with Investment Operations, Tax, and auditors, and drive process improvements to scale our investment accounting operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and/or financial reporting experience with a strong focus on investments, alternative investments, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Statutory accounting principles applicable to investment portfolios and alternative investments.
• Experience accounting for and reporting on private equity investments, limited partnerships, hedge funds, tax credit investments, or other alternative asset classes.
• Demonstrated experience preparing or reviewing investment-related financial reporting, disclosures, management reporting, and supporting schedules.
• Experience supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting cycles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting and reporting processes for alternative investments and other invested assets.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, investment schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Lead preparation and review of quarterly and annual investment reporting packages and disclosures.
• Partner with Financial Reporting to ensure accurate presentation of investment activity in GAAP and Statutory statements.
• Mentor two direct reports and provide technical guidance and development opportunities.
