Senior Algorithm Systems Engineer
Location: Plano, TX (onsite). The role is open to U.S. citizens who can obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (active clearance required). The position is part of the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Center in the Airborne Surveillance RF organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform system level performance analysis to evaluate and optimize advanced airborne sensor capabilities.
- Develop, refine, and analyze algorithms to support mission‑critical aerospace applications.
- Conduct trade studies to compare technical approaches and guide engineering decisions.
- Build statistical models and performance predictions for complex, multidisciplinary systems.
- Execute detailed data analyses following engineering processes and best practices.
- Participate in formal and informal peer reviews; identify, track, and resolve technical issues.
- Provide clear, timely task status updates and deliver high‑quality work products to the chief engineer.
- Interface daily with engineering teammates, other team leads, and cross‑functional partners to ensure technical alignment.
- Support customer and program presentations by contributing technical content and insights.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive successful program outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience in signal processing, image processing, detection theory, or machine learning.
- Knowledge and experience developing and implementing signal‑processing algorithms for airborne surveillance applications, including signal and image processing, physics‑constrained modeling, digital communications, or detection and estimation theory.
- Experience in UNIX/Linux environments.
- Programming experience in C or C++ and hands‑on experience using MATLAB or Python for data analysis.
- Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued DoD Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Advanced degree in STEM.
- Mathematical modeling and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Experience using software change‑management tools, version control systems, and established software development processes.
- Realtime programming for embedded or mission‑critical systems.
