Job summary

Citi's Fixed Income Algo Technology team in North America seeks an experienced software engineer to advance internal market-making and algorithmic trading platforms for Spread Product. The role involves close collaboration with traders and quants to solve complex tech problems and deliver high-performance, low-latency components.

Responsibilities include designing reusable components, tuning for performance, and ensuring reliability across live trading systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on coding experience in core Java, C++ or Rust.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, design patterns, and algorithms complexity.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Solace, Kafka, etc.
• Experience with Chronicle and/or Aeron.
• Experience with distributed caching techniques.
• Proven track record in market data processing and trading applications.
• Experience building back-testing frameworks and managing historical data storages.
• Basic Linux performance tuning and troubleshooting in Java/Linux stack.
• Familiarity with Gradle, Git, TeamCity, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Info/Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable algo trading platform components with a focus on latency and throughput.
• Collaborate with Traders, Quants, and Product Managers to implement enhancements.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of core components.
• Coordinate with eTrading and Production Support to maintain live trading systems.
• Adhere to engineering standards and continually improve solutions.
