Job summary

Forge Nano is seeking a Principal Process Engineer, R&D based in Thornton, Colorado to lead semiconductor ALD technology development and advance the TEPHRA roadmap. This senior role shapes strategies, mentors teams, and drives cross-functional programs to accelerate commercialization.

The ideal candidate has deep vacuum, thin-film deposition, and ALD/CVD expertise, with a track record of delivering innovative coatings for semiconductor devices.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 10+ years of industry or applied research experience, including significant semiconductor process technology experience.
• Deep expertise in vacuum systems and thin-film deposition technologies, including ALD and CVD.
• Demonstrated success leading complex R&D programs from concept through commercialization.
• Proven experience developing advanced materials and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Strong leadership experience within cross-functional technical organizations.
• Customer-facing experience supporting technical evaluations and partnerships.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of next-generation coating materials, semiconductor processes, and ALDx platform.
• Define and execute the technology roadmap for the TEPHRA production platform.
• Drive innovation initiatives enabling advanced device architectures and differentiated capabilities.
• Mentor scientists and engineers; manage cross-functional programs across R&D, Engineering, Operations, and BD.
• Support technology transfer from research to manufacturing with robust deployment methodologies.
• Engage with customers and partners to accelerate adoption and commercialization.
