Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Sr. Airfield Civil Engineer & Design Manager in Texas. You will lead airfield design and project teams across taxiways, runways, aprons, and related facilities from concept through construction.

Bring 8–12+ years in aviation design, PE license in Texas or via reciprocity, and strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills. Hybrid work arrangement offered with travel to Houston, San Antonio, and Austin as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 8–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer License (P.E.) in Texas or able to obtain via reciprocity within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide and manage design efforts through all project stages to keep on schedule and budget, mentoring junior engineers.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align design documents with objectives and expectations.
• Prepare submittals complete and in conformance with project requirements.
• Lead presentations of design elements to clients and stakeholders with PM support.
• Peer review design submittals, ensuring conformance to codes, standards, and owner requirements.
• Solicit feedback from stakeholders to balance quality, cost, schedule, sustainability, and innovation.
• Occasionally conduct on-site inspections to verify construction conformance.
• Independently lead designs on multiple concurrent projects without daily oversight.
