Job summary

Jacobs, a leader in aviation design, seeks a Sr. Airfield Civil Engineer & Design Manager in Texas to lead complex airfield projects from concept through construction.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive design submittals for runways, taxiways, aprons, and related facilities. The role requires a PE license in Texas or eligibility, 8–12 years in aviation design, and strong skills in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Professional Engineer License (P.E.) in Texas or eligible via reciprocity within 3 months.
• Demonstrated experience leading aviation design and construction projects and engineering teams.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and standards.
• Experience with airside and landside design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication with leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts across all project stages to ensure schedule and budget adherence, mentoring junior engineers as needed.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align design with objectives and expectations.
• Prepare comprehensive design submittals that meet project requirements.
• Present design elements to clients and stakeholders, with support from the team and Project Manager.
• Provide peer review of submittals and ensure conformance to codes and standards.
• Guide design teams through competing interests and constraints to achieve best outcomes.
• Conduct on-site construction inspections to verify design compliance.
• Independently lead multiple concurrent designs with minimal daily oversight.
