Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineering - Aircraft to design and integrate primary/secondary aircraft structures and modifications for special mission platforms. You will use 3D parametric CAD, rapid prototyping, and other tools to define solutions and produce drawings for full lifecycle support.

The role involves collaboration across engineering and manufacturing, with opportunities to lead and mentor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering with 6+ years related experience; graduate degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience with 3D CAD programs to create solid models and 2D drawings.
Minimum 2 years experience in aircraft structure design and modifications.
Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

Design and liaison of aircraft primary and secondary structure using CAD and MIL/SAE standards.
Provide liaison to production for interpretation of engineering drawings.
Prepare engineering drawings and release within schedule and budget constraints.
Generate bids for customer change orders and new pursuits.
Document and review designs with peers, management and customers.
