Job summary

AAR is seeking a skilled aircraft maintenance technician for the WASS program based in Sanford, FL. You will perform complex maintenance, inspections, and component repair to ensure airworthiness of DHC-8 aircraft and related systems, complying with manuals and program procedures.

Required four years in aircraft maintenance with certification, ability to read technical data in English, and willingness to obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• FCC License w/Element 3 or FAA Airframe and Power Plant certificate or equivalent Civilian Authority Certificate.
• Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals and technical data in English.
• Minimum four (4) years experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Must have previous experience working phase or heavy maintenance on assigned aircraft DHC-8.
• Experience with working from blueprint drawings, diagram, specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and other incomplete data.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Security Clearance or MRPT.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structural components.
• Rigging, surface controls, and plumbing/hydraulic units.
• Inspect engines and related components for airworthiness.
• Repair or replace defective engine components.
• Access aircraft to repair and rebuild structural components.
• Remove and install engines, props, or rotor blades and other components.
• Interpret OEM manuals and service bulletins to determine repair methods.
• Determine airworthiness of aircraft and components.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical wiring and related components.
• Perform inspections and servicing of hydraulic systems and avionics.
