Job DescriptionManage restraint sub-system integration and testing throughout vehicle development and model updates.
Create and update integration development and testing plans.
Oversee test material logistics from forecast through teardown.
Support creation and improvement of company specifications alongside Design Release Engineers (DREs).
Drive timely test report creation, closure, and submission within 24 hours of test completion.
Assist in general test lab operations, including 6S and material ordering.
Lead continuous improvement and calibration activities.
Obtain forklift certification and operate forklifts safely.
Collaborate with Restraints and Interiors DREs to understand part design and behavior and coordinate sub-system development.
Perform and collect first-level test analysis, maintain test databases, and complete standard analysis reports.
Manage root cause analysis with relevant component owners.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Some knowledge of airbag and/or interior part design and engineering, with automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience preferred.
Strong problem-solving and engineering fundamentals.
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-crash safety audiences (e.g., management, design, purchasing).
High ethical standards.
Physical ability to handle interior parts in test setups.
Preferred:
Curiosity and attention to detail.
Experience with assembly/disassembly of automotive interior parts.
Experience in crash or restraint system testing (e.g., airbag deployment, seats, trims).
Knowledge of CAE analysis and restraint system integration.
Positions are available in Michigan, Arizona, and California.
