Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Senior Air Quality Specialist to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to work with industrial clients on air permitting and compliance projects across the United States. We are looking for an individual with experience in providing air permitting and compliance support to industrial clients in specific geographic areas (East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, South, or Southwest). Experience in managing or participating in air quality impact assessments, problem-solving, and agency interaction is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will support air quality permitting and compliance projects, as well as related tasks for our industrial clients. You will collaborate with the Air Services Group leader to grow and expand our air services capabilities in support of clients across the U.S. Your responsibilities will include assisting with or leading business development, maintaining high levels of client interaction, and supporting team efforts. Some travel may be required. The position can be based at any of our offices, with a preference for candidates located on the West Coast. Key areas of experience include:

  • Preparation of air permit applications for federal and state agencies, including the development of emissions inventories.
  • State and federal regulatory review, and the application of regulations to specific client needs.
  • Compliance recordkeeping and reporting based on permit conditions.
  • Dispersion modeling for comparison to National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
  • Supporting air services proposal development, client development, and marketing efforts as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related environmental field.
  • 15+ years of experience in professional air quality projects, including permitting, modeling, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Consulting experience is highly preferred.
  • Prior project management and client service experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to attract new industrial clients.
  • Ability to expand the air services group by adding additional project team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong relationship management capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and contribute to all aspects of client projects.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $113,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
