Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance & Air Permitting Manager in Austin, TX. You will lead complex air permitting applications for industrial facilities and manage multi-regulatory compliance projects across federal, state, and local requirements.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate schedules and budgets, and advise clients on permitting strategies while supporting broader environmental programs. Hybrid work is available through this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting industrial environmental compliance and air quality programs.
  • Strong understanding of permitting requirements, emissions calculations, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and preparation of complex air permitting applications for industrial facilities.
  • Manage regulatory compliance projects involving federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Conduct emissions inventories, calculations, and technical evaluations of air pollution control systems.
  • Oversee air dispersion modeling analyses and support environmental impact assessments.
  • Review technical reports, compliance documentation, and environmental studies for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients regarding permitting strategies and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications.
  • Develop relationships with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and environmental professionals.
  • Support broader environmental compliance programs including stormwater, spill prevention, waste management, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to proactively advise clients and project teams.
  • Contribute to business growth through client relationship development and identification of new opportunities.

Preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with major source permitting and operating permit programs.

  • Multi-state regulatory experience.
  • Prior consulting experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure clients.
  • Experience mentoring technical staff or leading small project teams.
