Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of environmental compliance or air permitting experience.
  • Knowledge of NSR and Title V permits preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas and federal air regulations.
  • Willingness to travel to Texas facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation and submission of air permit applications (NSR, Title V, PSD, PBR, Standard Permits).
  • Manage air permitting projects from evaluation through agency approval.
  • Coordinate with consultants and regulatory agencies to negotiate permit conditions and facilitate permit issuance.
  • Track and manage permit renewals, amendments, and public notice activities.
  • Interpret permit requirements and implement permit conditions at facilities.
  • Provide guidance on air compliance and promote consistency across sites.
  • Support regulatory inspections and inquiries as a primary contact.
  • Assist with Title V deviation reporting and other regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and environmental teams to implement compliance solutions.

A leading industrial manufacturing company is seeking an Air Permitting Specialist to support environmental compliance and air permitting activities across multiple facilities. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with plant operations, regulatory agencies, and environmental consultants to secure and maintain air permits while supporting ongoing compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and submission of air permit applications, including NSR, Title V, PSD, PBR, and Standard Permits.
  • Manage air permitting projects from initial evaluation through agency approval.
  • Coordinate with environmental consultants and regulatory agencies to negotiate permit conditions and facilitate timely permit issuance.
  • Track and manage permit renewals, amendments, modifications, and required public notice activities.
  • Evaluate permitting requirements for capital projects, operational changes, and new installations.
  • Assist facility personnel with interpreting permit requirements and implementing permit conditions.
  • Provide technical guidance on air compliance matters and promote consistency across multiple sites.
  • Support regulatory inspections and agency inquiries, serving as a key point of contact during environmental reviews.
  • Assist with Title V deviation reporting and other regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and environmental teams to identify and implement compliance solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of environmental compliance or air permitting experience.
  • Preferred experience supporting chemical, petrochemical, plastics, hydrocarbon, energy, or other industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas and federal air regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance programs.
  • Experience preparing and managing NSR and Title V permits preferred.
  • Air dispersion modeling experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies, consultants, and cross-functional teams.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel periodically to manufacturing facilities and regulatory meetings within Texas.
