Job summary

Bright Sky Environmental in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Air Permitting Manager for immediate, full-time employment. This senior role focuses on air quality permitting, regulatory analyses, and client leadership across oil & gas, power, data centers, and industrial facilities.

You will manage projects, mentor staff, support business development, and lead technical deliverables while growing into a director-level position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, environmental science, or a closely related discipline plus at least 7 years of relevant air quality permitting and compliance experience.
• Direct air permitting experience in addition to project management experience is required.
• Strong working knowledge of air permitting and compliance programs, preferably in Texas and neighboring states.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in growing a specialized consulting practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage air quality permitting and compliance projects, including strategy, applicability analyses, emissions calculations, and permit applications.
• Lead and develop project team members and provide technical QA/QC for deliverables.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and client communications for active projects.
• Serve as trusted advisor to clients in oil & gas, power generation, data centers, and industrial sectors.
• Support business development with client relationships and opportunities to grow the air practice.
