Job summary

Altus Technology Solutions LLC seeks a Senior Air Operations Manager (Red Flag Air Boss) to support major DoD air combat training exercises in Alaska. You will oversee range aviation operations, ensure safety and compliance with directives, coordinate with joint range users, and act as the primary aviation safety authority during missions.

The role demands extensive airspace management expertise, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with LFE planning, ATO management, and FAA coordination

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of military aviation operations experience.
• Extensive knowledge of military range operations, weapons systems, and training safety requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute all aspects of air operations during training exercises.
• Monitor and control all aircraft operating on the airfield and participating in daily missions.
• Collaborate with the Mission Commander to develop, coordinate, and execute safe and effective mission plans.
• Maintain coordination with Operations Supervision, Range Control Officer (RCO), FAA, and exercise participants.
• Review and approve Air Tasking Order (ATO) changes and adjust missions for safety.
• Schedule range activities using RFMSS and CSE.
• Develop and review daily Drop Plans for USAF units and coordinate with Army Range Control.
• Create and distribute Weapons Danger Zones (WDZ) for flight operations.
• Attend mission planning meetings and key execution meetings (LFE, FAA calls, VUL monitoring).
• Ensure all briefings/meetings/events follow MSOE.
