Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Staff Validation Systems Engineer to advance L2+ driving feature validation for our AI Driver platform. Based in Sunnyvale with a hybrid work model, you will translate product and safety requirements into robust validation plans, build evaluation pipelines, and analyze results to guide product releases.

You will work across teams to ensure reliable data pipelines, scalable simulations, and rigorous evidence supporting new capabilities.

Qualifications

• You communicate clearly and document decisions well.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate requirements into tests.
• Experience validating autonomous-driving, robotics, or related intelligent products.

Responsibilities

• Translate product, systems, and safety requirements into validation strategies, test scenarios, metrics, coverage, and acceptance criteria.
• Work hands-on with Python, evaluation pipelines, test implementation, simulation, and data analysis.
• Analyse results and communicate findings, risks, and evidence to stakeholders.
• Coordinate data, simulation, and evaluation dependencies for reliable, scalable validation.
• Validate L2+ feature-level driving behaviours and new AI Driver capabilities.
• Evaluate interactions between the automated-driving system and the human driver.
• Define general-purpose metrics for on-road and simulated driving behaviour.
• Provide hands-on technical direction across teams while remaining an IC.
