Sophos invites an experienced Senior AI Threat Researcher to join our remote team. You will investigate how threat actors misuse AI across the attack lifecycle, including social engineering, malware generation, and attacks on AI systems, and help build robust detection strategies.

You will analyze telemetry and open‑source intelligence, automate workflows to scale response, collaborate with colleagues across the security research community, and contribute to new AI‑based defense solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cybersecurity, threat research, or adversarial AI.
• Strong technical skills in machine learning, data analysis, and programming.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze the use of AI by threat actors to power social engineering, malware, and attacks on AI systems.
• Develop detection and mitigation strategies to protect against adversarial AI exploits.
• Automate workflows and tools to scale the identification and response to AI-powered threats.
• Collaborate with the broader Sophos research team to share findings and enhance threat intelligence.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest AI security research and trends to anticipate future threats.
• Document and present research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of new AI-based security solutions at Sophos.
