Job summary

EY seeks an AI Systems Engineer to own the stateful backbone of EY’s AI platform, spanning data stores, memory tiers, and event streaming across cloud, on‑prem, edge, and air‑gapped environments.

You will manage relational, vector, and graph stores, ensure durability and recoverability, and design multi‑tenant data architectures with schema governance. Strong background in databases and streaming is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years operating production data infrastructure, streaming systems, or databases at scale.
• Hands-on with PostgreSQL and caching (Redis/Valkey) including HA, replication, backup/recovery.
• Exposure to AI/ML data patterns — embeddings, retrieval, feature/state stores.
• Production experience with vector/graph databases (Qdrant, Milvus, PGVector, Neo4j).
• Experience with Kafka, NATS, Debezium, Flink, CloudEvents, and schema governance.
• Experience running stateful systems on Kubernetes with persistent volumes.

Responsibilities

• Own memory and data stores (PostgreSQL, Redis/Valkey, vector/graph storage).
• Own event streaming and async messaging (Kafka, NATS JetStream, Debezium).
• Ensure durability, consistency, and recoverability across environments.
• Build streaming and CDC pipelines with schema governance.
• Make state multi-tenant and portable across cloud and on‑prem.
• Define data/schema contracts with platform and delivery teams.
