Job summary

Visa’s Technology Organization is seeking a Sr. Consultant Engineer to lead AI-powered solutions across a global payments platform.

You will partner with engineering, data science, design, security, and business stakeholders to drive ideation through scaled deployment, building intelligent, resilient, and trustworthy systems for Visa’s network. The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, architecture oversight, and measurable impact on fraud detection, data products, and real-time commerce.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 11+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience shipping AI products, ML, data, cloud, or distributed systems.
• Expert-level Python and/or NodeJS; Java or C/C++ bonus.
• Experience in Generative AI, RAG, multi-agent architectures.
• Strong NLP understanding and tokenization basics.
• Ability to design AI components and integrate into larger systems.
• Familiarity with ML Ops, security, and robust AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate business challenges into engineering roadmaps and specs.
• Lead experimentation, pilot, and scaled launches of AI features.
• Develop AI-native capabilities touching large user base with scalability and security.
• Collaborate across platform, UX, product, security, and DevOps.
• Champion quality and operational resilience; identify systemic improvements.
• Shape Visa's AI ecosystem using cloud-native technologies.
• Enable global impact with mentoring and learning programs.
