Job summary

Amazon is building a new, foundational AI memory system within its Personalization organization in Seattle. You will be a founding engineer, shaping architecture for persistent, compounding memory at organizational scale and guiding the team through novel challenges at the intersection of distributed systems, knowledge retrieval, and AI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture for knowledge extraction, real-time retrieval, and cross-domain reconciliation systems
• Lead design and implementation of distributed systems handling millions of events per day with sub-second retrieval latency
• Make foundational choices about storage, indexing, and retrieval to scale from prototype to production
• Define technical standards, code review practices, and engineering culture for a forming team
• Partner with Applied Scientists to translate research into production-grade systems
• Drive technical strategy with senior leadership visibility and influence product roadmap
• Design systems that handle temporal decay, conflicting knowledge sources, and privacy-preserving retrieval at scale
• Mentor junior engineers and establish reusable patterns for the team
