Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI systems. You will work with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product partners to deliver responsible AI features that transform customer experiences and banking processes.

You will optimize training and inference workloads, integrate a broad AI stack, and help shape the technical vision for foundational AI at Capital One.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in CS/AI/EE or related field with substantial AI/ML work experience.
• 10+ years creating AI/ML algorithms or technologies or MSc with 8+ years.
• Proficient in Python and at least one other major language (Go/Scala/Java).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components (training, inference, governance).
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS, HuggingFace, VectorDBs, PyTorch).
• Develop and apply advanced LLm optimization techniques for production systems.
• Contribute to the long-term AI systems roadmap at Capital One.
• Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to stakeholders.
