Job summary

Advantest seeks a Senior Principal AI Systems Engineer to architect and deliver production AI capabilities at scale. You will lead hands-on work across agentic AI, open‑source model development, fine‑tuning, evaluation systems, and reliable AI infrastructure.

You will design multi‑step reasoning systems, tool integration, failure recovery, and observability, partnering with platform and engineering teams to ensure secure, scalable deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting production AI systems with tool use and multi-step reasoning.
• Proven ability to design and evolve evaluation frameworks for model quality and safety.
• Strong software engineering discipline and collaboration with platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect production-grade AI systems for tool-using and multi-step agents.
• Design orchestration, memory, retries, timeouts, observability, and failure recovery.
• Establish interfaces between models, tools, data services, and applications.
• Build reusable agent frameworks for multiple products and environments.
• Fine-tune open-source models and evaluate tradeoffs between quality and cost.
