Job summary

Cogitate in Atlanta is seeking an experienced AI software engineer to lead design and implementation of autonomous AI agents and scalable workflows. You will work with LLMs, build RAG pipelines, and set guardrails.

You will mentor engineers, define standards, optimize production reliability, and shape the AI product roadmap with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
• 4-7 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years working with LLMs, ML systems, or AI-powered applications
• Expert proficiency in Python and relevant AI/ML libraries

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of AI agents capable of autonomous/semi-autonomous reasoning, planning, and task execution
• Architect scalable AI workflows integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI) via LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or custom frameworks
• Design and optimize RAG pipelines and hybrid AI architectures for production-scale performance and cost efficiency
• Define technical standards, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI guardrails
• Mentor engineers through code and design reviews; shape the AI product roadmap with stakeholders
• Own production reliability — monitoring, observability, latency/cost optimization, and incident response
