Job summary

Cogitate in Atlanta seeks an experienced AI software engineer to lead design and implementation of autonomous AI agents and scalable AI workflows, integrating LLMs via LangChain and similar frameworks.

You will mentor engineers, define technical standards and guardrails, own production reliability, monitor latency and cost, and partner with stakeholders to shape the AI product roadmap for production-scale applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
• 4-7 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years working with LLMs, ML systems, or AI-powered applications

Technical Competencies

• Lead design and implementation of AI agents capable of autonomous/semi-autonomous reasoning, planning, and task execution
• Architect scalable AI workflows integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI) via LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or custom frameworks
• Design and optimize RAG pipelines and hybrid AI architectures for production-scale performance and cost efficiency
• Define technical standards, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI guardrails
• Mentor engineers through code and design reviews; shape the AI product roadmap with stakeholders
• Own production reliability — monitoring, observability, latency/cost optimization, and incident response
