Job summary

Gainwell Technologies is seeking an AI Software Engineer to develop, modernize, and support large-scale healthcare applications. You will work on complex SQL, AWS RDS, REST APIs, and AI-assisted tooling in a fully remote setting across the US.

The role requires senior hands-on engineering experience, strong database and cloud skills, and technical leadership to mentor others and push modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of application development or software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with SQL, relational databases, PostgreSQL/Oracle, AWS RDS, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot and advanced AI models for coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and technical analysis.
• Strong experience with solution design, code reviews, mentoring, and modernization of enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex SQL and AWS RDS solutions, including query tuning and performance improvements.
• Apply GitHub Copilot and AI models across coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
• Lead architectural design, peer reviews, and mentoring to promote best practices.
• Develop and support REST APIs, healthcare integrations, and HL7 interfaces.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, troubleshooting, and engineering guidance.
• Ensure AI-generated solutions are reviewed, tested, secured, and validated before deployment.
