Job summary

Connsci seeks a Senior AI Software Developer to design, deploy, and maintain AI systems for a federal program in Washington, DC. You will build scalable AI solutions, integrate with existing IT environments, and deliver measurable mission impact.

You will collaborate across teams, leverage Azure DevOps and AI libraries, and mentor junior engineers while adhering to security and compliance requirements. Onsite ramp is required, with remote work flexibility thereafter.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/IS or related field; relevant experience considered in place of a degree.
• 7+ years of experience in developing and implementing AI solutions.
• 3+ years with Azure DevOps and Azure development tools.
• 3+ years with ML libraries and AI-related development.
• 3+ years with Python, R, or Java.
• Clearance: Secret, Top Secret, DOE Q, or Public Trust High Risk Tier 4.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and math/algorithms knowledge.
• Experience with Azure Cognitive Services and Azure OpenAI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver AI software solutions for the agency's needs.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web services and APIs.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing systems for seamless data exchange.
• Assist data ingestion, cleansing, labeling, and transformation for model training.
• Collaborate with customers to develop AI models including data analysis and feature engineering.
• Deploy AI solutions and provide ongoing maintenance for stability and performance.
• Provide user training and support through workshops, manuals, and docs.
• Keep development records, SOPs, knowledge bases, and technical bulletins.
