Job summary

Bartech Staffing is seeking a Senior AWS Software Engineer to design, build, and optimize AI-enabled systems in a data-centric environment. You will collaborate across teams, using the AWS development stack and Terraform to automate infrastructure, APIs, and data pipelines.

You’ll write clean Python code, mentor teammates, and translate AI concepts into actionable deliverables while staying current with Agentic AI development and security best practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree OR High School/GED in Information Systems related discipline, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior AWS Software Engineer with Python, Terraform, AWS Glue, Lambda, and API development.
• Experience in a data-centric environment and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Experience with Agentic AI development and AI-driven solutions.
• Must meet the Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 requirement.

Responsibilities

This role offers the opportunity to design, build, and optimize complex AI-enabled systems in a data-centric environment, collaborating across teams and wearing multiple hats to deliver innovative solutions leveraging the AWS AI development stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build highly complex AI-enabled software solutions using Agile, XP, and TDD practices.
• Develop scalable applications and APIs leveraging AWS services (Lambda, Glue, etc.) and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Write efficient, well-structured Python code for AI workflows and cloud integrations.
• Collaborate with data engineers, product owners, and other developers to deliver impactful solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, paired programming, and mentor junior team members.
• Translate complex AI concepts into manageable user stories and technical deliverables.
• Optimize data pipelines and ensure robust integration with cloud platforms.
• Provide technical guidance on AI architecture and best practices for sustainability and security.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, including Agentic AI development.

Requirements - education & experience

• Associate's degree OR High School/GED in Information Systems related discipline AND 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proven experience as a Senior AWS Software Engineer with hands‑on expertise in Python, Terraform, AWS Glue, Lambda, and API development.
• Comfortable working in a data-centric environment and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Experience with Agentic AI development and AI-driven solutions.
• Must meet the Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 requirement.
