Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Plano, TX is seeking a senior software engineer to deliver secure, scalable solutions using enterprise AI‑assisted development tools. You will develop RESTful APIs, drive automation, and ensure operational stability across cloud‑based services.

Responsibilities include collaborating in CI/CD, applying agile practices, and guiding peers on safe and effective AI usage within engineering workflows.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in Software Engineering and 5+ years applied experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with a public cloud such as AWS.
  • Hands on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Hands‑on experience using enterprise-authorized AI‑assisted software development tools with evaluation of AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and security expectations.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Proficiency in Java 21 / Python building into Public Cloud and CD/CD strategies.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and ensure smooth integration across services.

  • Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and secure coding standards.
  • Applies knowledge of SDLC tools including AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
  • Develops secure production code and reviews code written by others.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve operational stability.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and teams to probe designs and applicability.
  • Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies and learning.
  • Contributes to a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.

Job description

Job responsibilities:
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes‑oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading‑edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Formal training or certification in Software Engineering and 5+ years applied experience
  • 8+ years of experience with a public cloud such as AWS
  • Hands on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Hands‑on experience using enterprise-authorized AI‑assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Proficient in development skill Java 21/ Python building into Public Cloud and CD/CD strategies.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and ensure smooth integration across internal and external services.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Working knowledge of one or more NoSQL database technologies, preferably Apache Cassandra
  • Working knowledge of one or more Messaging technologies, preferably Apache Kafka
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Exposure to building AI/ML driven applications to drive business goals.
  • Track record of Continuous learning mindset
  • Proficiency in Agile and SRE culture
