Job summary

Fortinet seeks a Principal AI Security Engineer to join the Corporate Information Security team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will secure AI-driven applications, guiding internal teams and performing AI security reviews and threat modeling.

Lead integration of guardrails, input/output filters, and policy enforcement for LLMs, while ensuring secure DevSecOps practices across Fortinet’s AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of information security, product security, or AI/ML related experience.
• Strong understanding of LLM-based architectures and related concepts.
• Experience with ML adversarial attacks and prompt injection.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and OWASP LLM Top 10.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and containerization.
• Proven experience in manual application penetration testing and security code reviews.
• Solid foundation in cryptography and security protocols.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps.
• Experience with threat modeling methodologies (STRIDE, MAESTRO).
• BS degree in CS or related field or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an AI security subject matter expert guiding internal teams.
• Conduct code reviews and AI red-teaming assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
• Perform threat modeling for AI-related products and CIDC security integration.
• Implement security guardrails and policy enforcement for LLM interactions.
• Develop vulnerability mitigation strategies and security architectures.
• Collaborate with global teams and coach peers on AI/ML security best practices.
• Research new AI threat vectors and evolving security challenges.
• Ensure security is considered early in the development lifecycle.
