Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff AI Security Engineer to define the technical vision and hands‑on security controls for AI models and agentic workflows. You will design scalable security infrastructure, mentor engineers, and partner with cross‑functional teams to build secure paved roads for AI innovation.

You will lead threat modeling, implement guardrails, and drive architectural security in cloud environments while partnering with product and security to protect enterprise AI deployments.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of AI threat landscape including OWASP, MITRE ATLAS, NIST AI RMF.
• 8+ years of security engineering or backend software development.
• Experience securing agentic frameworks and building secure AI features.
• Proven ability to design scalable cloud infrastructure and access controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise AI guardrails, gateways, and security controls for agentic workflows.
• Lead threat modeling and security reviews for AI systems and deployments.
• Define secure design patterns and developer tools to accelerate safe AI features.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, security, and infra teams.
• Build visibility into AI data flows, usage, and risk across the enterprise.
• Operate internal AI security platforms and integrated security capabilities.
• Drive technical alignment and security best practices across teams.
