Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Principal Technical Consultant (Forward Deployed Engineer) for AI Security to lead deployment and operationalization of AI security capabilities in customer environments. You will translate complex AI security requirements into scalable architectures and partner with security, AI engineering, data science, and platform teams to deliver secure, production-grade solutions.

The role requires 10+ years in security/AI engineering, cloud experience, and proven ability to drive

Qualifications

10+ years in security/AI/platform engineering or related roles with progression to senior/principal level
Hands-on experience securing AI systems, LLM apps, or AI production pipelines
Cloud-native architectures on AWS, Azure or GCP
Data integration, telemetry pipelines, normalization, and security analytics for AI systems
Experience working with customers and executive stakeholders in delivery environments
Proven experience developing technical proposals, SOWs, and scoping documents
Ability to lead engagements without direct authority
Cross-team collaboration across engineering, security, data science, and business stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

Serve as the senior technical lead for deploying and operationalizing AI security solutions in customer or enterprise environments
Develop technical proposals, statements of work, and solution architectures that scope AI security engagements
Translate business, operational, and AI security requirements into deployable architectures and implementation plans
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align solutions with AI governance and compliance requirements
Act as a trusted advisor and executive-level point of contact during onboarding, implementation, rollout, and optimization phases
Design and implement integrations across AI platforms, model registries, LLM gateways, vector databases, and AI-enabled security tooling
Build and configure cloud-native data ingestion, normalization, and enrichment pipelines for AI telemetry
Integrate APIs, webhooks, message queues, and automation workflows across AI operations and cloud ecosystems
Develop reusable deployment patterns, templates, and technical assets for future AI security deployments
Operationalize security controls and guardrails for AI systems (prompt injection defense, model access controls, data leakage prevention)
Secure non-human identities (NHI) across AI and agentic workflows
Work with AI, detection engineering, and data teams on red teaming and anomaly detection
Define data requirements and guardrails to secure AI systems in production
Ensure deployed solutions are practical and aligned to governance and risk objectives
Implement secure automation for AI security monitoring and incident response
Support resiliency, observability, and scale for AI security solutions
Troubleshoot integration issues with cross-functional teams
Improve reliability through documentation, testing, and standardized practices
Lead cross-team collaboration among AI Eng, Security Eng, Data Science, Infrastructure, Sales, and product/customer teams
Communicate complex concepts to technical and executive audiences
Mentor engineers and contribute to best practices in AI security implementations
Provide field feedback to influence platform roadmap and product direction
Represent the practice in pre-sales, proposals, and client presentations
