Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior AI Architect to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions in a highly regulated sector. You will mentor engineers, guide AI architecture decisions, and shepherd prototypes from concept to production across finance and related industries.

The role demands deep expertise in transformers, LLMs, and agentic workflows, with a track record of impactful research, publications, and practical deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience
• Eight+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML
• Strong Python and modern AI/ML framework skills
• Experience designing, building, and deploying AI/ML in production
• Experience across full AI product lifecycle from research to deployment
• Deep expertise in ML/DL, transformers, foundation models
• Extensive experience with generative AI, LLMs, fine-tuning, and RAG
• Experience with agentic AI systems and multi-agent workflows
• Hands-on with PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, LangGraph or equivalents
• Publications, patents, open-source contributions, or significant AI solutions delivery
• Experience in regulated industries like financial services, healthcare, or telecom
• Strong ability to translate AI concepts into business outcomes
• Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Monitor and experiment with emerging AI technologies and industry trends
• Identify opportunities to apply AI to financial-services problems
• Conduct original AI research and exploratory investigations
• Design experiments, evaluate results, and communicate findings to stakeholders
• Contribute to publications, patents, and thought leadership
• Transform research concepts into prototypes and proofs-of-concept
• Develop AI solutions from data preparation to deployment
• Build production-ready solutions using modern AI/ML tools and cloud platforms
• Lead development of foundation-model, generative AI, RAG, and agentic-workflow solutions
• Design and evaluate AI agents, multi-agent systems, and memory/human-in-the-loop workflows
• Establish best practices for prompt engineering, model adaptation, and governance
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to productionize prototypes
• Drive AI architecture decisions balancing innovation, scale, security, and compliance
• Mentor engineers and data scientists
• Own delivery of AI capabilities from concept to adoption
• Serve as technical owner for AI platforms and shared services
