Artera is seeking a senior/staff ML scientist or engineer to own AI biomarker development end-to-end, collaborating with product, medical, and biostatistics partners through validation, regulatory submission, and production. You will guide the next generation of pathology foundation models, ensure robustness across scanners and sites, and mentor a growing team of ML scientists and engineers.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of industry experience building deep learning systems (PyTorch).
• Hands-on experience with coding agents like Cursor or Claude Code.
• Track record launching ML products in production and evaluating them on real-world data.
• 2+ years as a technical lead for complex ML programs: scoping problems, setting direction, sequencing work, managing dependencies and risk.
• Demonstrated depth in oncology or biomarker development.

Responsabilidades

• Own AI biomarker end to end, from problem framing with product, medical, and biostatistics partners through validation, regulatory submission, and production.
• Lead the next generation of pan-cancer self-supervised pathology foundation models and downstream models (MIL, time-to-event, segmentation) with generalization as a priority.
• Ensure reproducibility and robustness of model predictions across scanners, institutions, staining protocols, and patient populations.
• Manage coding agents to propose/execute experiments and improve tooling efficiency.
• Serve as technical lead: set strategy, break programs into milestones, manage cross-team dependencies, surface risks, and drive submissions/launch dates.
• Present findings to product/medical/biostatistics teams and defend regulatory/quality documentation.
• Mentor ML scientists and engineers to raise scientific rigor and code quality.
• Publish in journals, present at clinical/ML venues, support external collaborations.
