Zusammenfassung

Artera is seeking a machine learning engineer to develop AI biomarkers that improve cancer care. You will collaborate with ML scientists, engineers, and clinical/biostatistics partners across the model-development lifecycle, from prototyping to production deployment.

You will build models from digital pathology and clinical data, improve robustness across scanners/sites, and contribute to regulatory and publication efforts.

Qualifikationen

• 1+ years developing ML or DL models using PyTorch (or TensorFlow).
• Familiarity with oncology and biomarker development, including cancer biology and treatment pathways.
• Experience with real-world datasets and evaluating models using appropriate metrics and validation.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with version control, testing, and code review.
• Ability to analyze experimental results, troubleshoot model behavior, and communicate findings.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with ML engineers, scientists, and cross-functional partners.

Aufgaben

• Develop and evaluate AI-based biomarkers using multimodal data to predict outcomes and molecular traits.
• Develop and evaluate self-supervised foundation models and downstream ML models (MIL, time-to-event, segmentation, classification).
• Improve model robustness across scanners, institutions, staining protocols, and patient populations.
• Apply interpretability methods to explain model decisions and build clinician trust.
• Build tools/workflows to support reproducible model development, validation, and deployment.
• Conduct rigorous model evaluation and document experiments and decisions.
• Collaborate with ML scientists/engineers and product/clinical/regulatory partners throughout development and validation.
• Support regulatory and quality documentation related to AI model development and validation.
• Contribute to publications and external collaborations.
