Job summary

Eccalon LLC in Detroit is seeking an AI Expert – Robotics to lead the design, development, and integration of AI/ML into robotic systems for mission-critical applications across aerospace, defense, and manufacturing domains.

This hands-on role requires strong Python/C++ skills, experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch, ROS/ROS2, and a track record of deploying AI models to production, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver reliable autonomous solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML and robotics development.
• Strong programming in Python and/or C++.
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience deploying AI models to production or real-world environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-driven algorithms for robotic perception, decision‑making, planning, and control.
• Integrate ML/AI models into robotic platforms and embedded systems.
• Develop and optimize computer vision, sensor fusion, and autonomy solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams for end-to-end integration.
• Train, evaluate, and deploy ML models in real-world robotic environments.
• Support simulation, testing, validation, and field deployment of AI-enabled robots.
• Analyze system performance and improve autonomy, accuracy, and reliability.
• Document architectures, models, and designs.
• Stay current with AI, ML, and robotics technologies and best practices.
