Job summary

Google is seeking a Research Scientist to advance foundational AI research and deploy scalable experiments across product domains. You will design, prototype, and evaluate architectures for machine learning systems, from data collection to deployment, contributing to Google's agentic ecosystem and core products.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, publish findings in top venues, and mentor junior researchers while delivering high-impact insights for AI-driven product decisions.

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics, CS, ML or related field.
• 2 years of experience leading a research agenda.
• One or more publications in an economics or AI journal or conference.

Responsibilities

• Turn socio-technical AI questions into concrete measurement strategies.
• Apply causal frameworks to understand AI impact from data.
• Advise Product areas on data-driven system improvements using AI.
• Mentor junior researchers and promote reproducible research.
