Job summary

Archer is seeking a highly skilled AI/ML researcher to design and deploy advanced models for our air mobility platform in Silicon Valley. You will prototype, evaluate, and refine transformer-based systems, collaborating with researchers to transfer prototypes into production.

The ideal candidate holds an M.S. or PhD in CS/CE with AI/ML focus, is proficient in PyTorch/TensorFlow, and stays current with ML research literature. Base pay ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 with benefits.

Qualifications

• M.S or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with strong emphasis on AI and ML.
• Enjoy solving less-defined and complex problems.
• Familiarity with good SW practices and development, including code quality and version control.
• Very strong with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Good understanding of Transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, multi-modal foundation models, diffusion policies, fine-tuning, model distillation, mixture of experts, and related topics.
• Has strong ability to debug and determine requirements for AI models in terms of data, training, and evaluation.
• Stays up to date with research literature and ML techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate novel ML and DL algorithms.
• Iterate on AI model development from data requirements to deployment.
• Collaborate with researcher engineers to prototype complex solutions.
• Conduct experiments to benchmark techniques and evaluate model behavior.
• Develop tools and frameworks to support scalable, reproducible research and development.
• Communicate research findings to leadership concisely and convincingly.
• Stay current with AI/ML developments and identify relevant innovations.
• Assist in transitioning research prototypes into production-ready systems.
