Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to embed with enterprise customers, designing, building, deploying, and running AI-powered production systems. You will own outcomes end-to-end and drive scalable architectures across multi-workstream engagements.

Responsibilities include leading technical delivery, building scalable AI foundations, and mentoring others while expanding AI adoption across customer orgs.

Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture at production scale.
Experience as a mentor or tech lead.
Experience communicating technical concepts to stakeholders.
Experience leading AI/agentic development at production scale.
Experience with AI tools, eval frameworks, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

Lead technical delivery across customer engagements and define strategy.
Design foundational architectures for enterprise AI systems.
Define operational standards and production readiness criteria.
Define engineering patterns and mentor junior FDEs.
Identify opportunities to expand AI adoption across customers.
