Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Senior AI Product Engineer in the Bay Area to own customer-facing AI experiences end-to-end, transforming LLMs, agents and RAG into polished products. You’ll work across React/TypeScript, Node.js and Python to deliver streaming, real-time AI interfaces with human-in-the-loop and robust evaluation signals.

You should have 5+ years of software engineering, 2+ years in AI-powered product teams, and solid backend skills with Node.js or Python.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years building AI-powered products in production.
• Backend expertise with Node.js and/or Python.
• Hands-on with LLM APIs, RAG, prompts.
• Experience building streaming or real-time user experiences.
• Strong product instincts and collaboration with Product, Design and AI/ML teams.
• Knowledge of AI evals, security/compliance a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Own customer-facing AI experiences end-to-end.
• Develop AI-powered features across React/TypeScript, Node.js and Python.
• Implement agent workflows and multi-step AI experiences.
• Build streaming or real-time UI experiences using SSE/WebSockets.
• Create reusable patterns for AI state management, streaming and evaluation.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and AI/ML teams to ship polished products.
