Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Intelligent Quality Solutions to lead the design and delivery of AI-powered, enterprise-grade software in production.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on building reusable frameworks, autonomous agents, and AI-enabled services for the Enterprise Quality Intelligence Platform. You will collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, security, and data teams to drive governance, security, and observability while shaping long-term AI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12 or more years of experience designing and building enterprise software applications, services, or platforms.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting AI-powered software applications in production environments.
• Demonstrated experience building applications that use large language models, generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning, or modern AI orchestration frameworks.
• Strong software engineering expertise across cloud-native architectures, APIs, distributed systems, modern design patterns, and secure software development.
• Experience building scalable enterprise platforms or reusable enterprise capabilities.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise software products, platforms, or engineering workflows.
• Proven success in innovative, experimentation-driven engineering environments with rapid prototyping and learning.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives from concept through production implementation.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, observability, governance, and lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and executive stakeholders.
