Teradata in Montpelier, VT, seeks a Senior Manager – AI Platform to lead the development of our autonomous AI-powered platform. You will guide a multidisciplinary team of engineers and data scientists, align with AI/ML research and product groups, and ensure the platform is performant, extensible, and production-ready.

The role emphasizes roadmap leadership, cloud-native practices, and scalable infrastructure, including API gateways, vector stores, and RAG pipelines.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software/platform engineering or data science, with leadership experience
• Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems or cloud platforms in production
• Strong background in backend development, APIs, infrastructure, or platform architecture
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML platforms, LLM integrations, and data science workflows
• Experience with vector databases, semantic search, and end-to-end data pipelines
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver results

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and data science roadmap for the AI Platform.
• Define requirements for predictive modeling, memory, planning, multi-agent collaboration, and tool orchestration.
• Design and implement core platform services including API gateways, vector store integrations, and RAG pipelines.
• Oversee integrations with third-party tools and data science services to enable scalable agent execution.
• Guide best practices in cloud-native development, observability, and security.
• Mentor and grow a high-performing team of engineers and data scientists.
• Ensure alignment between platform capabilities and evolving AI product needs.
• Drive code/design reviews and reliability practices across teams.
• Contribute to long-term strategy for agentic workflows powered by data science.
