Job summary

Versant Media, LLC (CNBC partner) seeks a Senior AI Engineer to build the next generation of AI-powered equity research. The role is hybrid with 3 days in the CNBC HQ in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, offering exposure to senior leadership and top-tier analysts as you work on distributed agentic AI platforms.

You will design, build, and operate core AI components, integrating LLM capabilities into real-world investor workflows, with access to former hedge fund managers and market professionals guiding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years building and shipping production software systems.
• Backend experience in a typed language (TypeScript preferred).
• Experience deploying GenAI/LLM systems in production.
• Experience building agentic workflows with LangChain, Mastra, or LangGraph.
• Strong Python and distributed systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end distributed agentic AI solutions that are reliable and scalable.
• Own complex features or subsystems from design through deployment and operation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate AI capabilities into products and data pipelines.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical standards for AI systems.
• Maintain observability and operational health, including cost metrics, quality monitoring, drift detection, alignment, alerting, and incident response.
• Support the team’s overall technical growth.
• Identify and mitigate risks in AI systems, including performance regressions, bias, and operational issues.
