Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced AI-platform engineer to own sustaining engineering and platform maintenance for an internal AI assistant deployed enterprise-wide across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.

You will triage feedback, develop new AI workflows, and collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize needs and roll out tool upgrades, training, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on AI/ ML in production.
• Ownership of production software product through its sustaining lifecycle including on-call or user-facing support.
• Experience building and operating LLM-based or agentic applications in production including prompt/context engineering and tool calling.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML models, algorithms, and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, and Power Query; VBA is a plus.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems via REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and track hardware lifecycle is a plus.
• Experience integrating AI solutions into large-scale software systems.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the sustaining engineering and platform maintenance for an internal AI platform.
• Build and maintain automated regression coverage for 30+ production AI workflows.
• Monitor and remediate data/schema drift across enterprise systems.
• Implement guardrails for accuracy, safety, and data handling rules.
• Triage, disposition, and closure of a high-volume user feedback queue.
• Report backlog health and quality trends to senior leadership.
• Design, build, and release AI-assisted workflows for multiple business domains.
• Conduct performance testing and fine-tuning of AI models as needed.
• Lead mentors and guide partner development teams.
