Qualifications

• 7+ years in platform engineering, developer experience, engineering productivity, internal tooling or DevOps.
• Experience building or significantly improving a shared platform or platform engineering function.
• Hands-on engineering ability to design, build, deploy, and operate systems and tools you advocate for.
• Experience developing internal tools, automation, templates, and standardized workflows adopted by engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, release automation, infrastructure, observability, environment management, and production operations in SaaS.
• Hands-on AWS experience in production with services like VPC, ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to influence across teams.
• Pragmatic approach to AI-assisted development, focusing on real workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a practical platform roadmap spanning CI/CD, release automation, infrastructure, observability, and tooling.
• Develop internal tools, reusable templates, automation, and standardized workflows to simplify engineering tasks.
• Reduce friction in local development, testing, deployment, environment management, and production troubleshooting.
• Implement automated validation, quality gates, release guardrails, and faster feedback loops to improve software quality.
• Partner with product engineers to translate bottlenecks into scalable platform improvements.
• Treat engineering teams as internal customers, prioritizing usability, adoption, reliability, and measurable impact.
• Use metrics (DORA, DX) to identify bottlenecks and guide prioritization.
• Enable AI-enabled engineering workflows with Claude Code, AI agents, MCP-connected workflows, and LLM automation.
• Provide technical leadership through reviews, documentation, and hands-on examples.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and shape technical direction with potential for platform leadership.
